V5 Neck Measurement
The Neck Measurement is taken high and tight.
The purpose of the neck measurement is to determine the thickness of the neck from shoulder seam to shoulder seam.

What the neck measurement determines the length of the blue line.
The program uses a formula to determine the length of the blue line shown in the diagram.
It them drops the front and back neck based on a forumla and adds defaults. The defaults show in the program. These defaults can be changed to adjust the front and back neck depth.
The neck measurement does not set the length of the jewel neck. The drafted jewel neckline is a combination of neck opening width, front depth and back depth.
Sometimes a larger than average neck circumference (average is 13 - 14 inches) will result in the distance represented by the blue line as being longer than needed. The neck measurement should be reduced until the jewel neck drafts where desired.
A smaller than average neck measurement may result in a neck that is too narrow. The neck measuement should be increased until the jewel neck drafts were desired.
