Yardage:
Use a Folded Layout. Place the Center Front Panel on the fold of the layout. Arrange other pieces and Calculate Yardage.
Notions:
22 inch zipper
Interfacing for facings
Seam Tape for hem finish
Thread to match fabric.
Sewing Instructions1 Sew Center Back Seam, leaving opening for back Zipper. Press and finish raw edges.
2 Insert Back Zipper.
3 Sew Back Side Panels to Center Back Panels. Press and finish raw edges.
4 Sew Front Side Panels to Center Front Panel. Ease as needed between bust dots. Clip seam in bust area if needed to allow seam to press flat. Press and finish raw edges.
5 Sew shoulder and side seams. Try on the dress to check the fit. If the fit is too sung, decrease seam allowance. If it fits too loose increase seam allowance. When pleased with the fit press seams and finish raw edges.
6 Combine facing and interfacing. If using a fusible fuse interfacing to back of facing. If using sew in interfacing, machine baste interfacing to facing.
7 Sew neck facings at shoulder. Press and finish raw edges of seam and edge of facing.
8 Match facing to neckline. Sew. Clip and trim seam allowance. Fold to inside and understitch. Fold and finish zipper edge of facing and hand stitch in place.
9 Sew shoulder and side seam of armhole facing. Press and finish raw edge.
10 Match armhole facing to garment at the shoulder seam and underarm. Sew in place. Clip and trim seam allowance. Understitch. Tack facing to garment at shoulder and underarm seam allowances.
11 Try on dress to mark up hem. Finish hem edge with seam tape. Turn up the desired hem and press.
