Fly Front Jeans with Facing Waist

Fly Front Stretch Jeans with Facing

This was my first try at a snug fitting jeans using stretch fabric. I didn't put on back pockets or do fancy jeans top stitching. I love the way these fit and will do back hip pockets and contracting stitching for my next pair.

Pocket—Western

If a lower waist is desired drop the waist to where you want the top edge of the finished pants.

My Settings
Slim Cut Leg - 16 hem
Knee Width - .5
Darts 2 front, 1 back.
Facing 1.5 -
Western Pocket—Depth 7, Opening 2—Bag 3 (This allows 1.5 inches for the facing and 1.5 for the pocket opening. With stretch fabric you want the opening to be shallow so it won't pull open.)
Waist Ease - 0
Hip Ease - 0
Crotch Ease - 0
Inseam—Desired length. I made the inseam 1 inches longer than usual to allow for 0 crotch depth ease.

Fabric
I used a stretch denim/lycra blend.

Notions
7 inch zipper
Woven Fusible Interfacing

I fuse the interfacing to the fabric and then cut out the facing pattern pieces. This uses more interfacing but cuts very accurate pieces.
