Installation and Troubleshooting
Please review and print the following instructions
for downloading and installing the programs and updates. To
print this page, choose File/Print from your web browser's top
menu.

Backing Up Databases
Prior to installing an update, we recommend that you
back up the .mdb database file contained in
the main folder for your program. This file is
a database containing your program information
such as measurement charts or stash information. The
updates will not likely cause you to lose your database
but it is always safe to back up the file. Copy
the file, .mdb to a floppy disk, CD or another
folder on your computer. If you need to restore the
file, simply copy and paste it from wherever you saved
it back into your folder making certain to overwrite the
existing file.
Downloading from the Internet
First, please understand that we have no
control whatsoever over your ability to download files from the internet.
If you are cut off during transmission it may be because the server is
busy. Try downloading at a later time. If the download appears to be
complete but you get an error message stating an incorrect file size when
trying to install the program, then it was not downloaded completely.
Again - we have no control over this and cannot fix it. You will need to
keep trying the download until you get a complete file. If you are
downloading through Netscape or AOL, try using Internet Explorer.
If you computer disconnects you before the download is complete, the
time-out problem might be due to a setting in your Internet defaults. If
you are running Internet Explorer, try the following: (Netscape and AOL
may have a similar procedures but you will need to check with them to
determine the steps involved.)

1. Go to the
MyComputer/Control Panel/Internet icon. (Note: If you
are already connected to the Internet, click on the
View menu and choose Internet Options.)

2. Click on the Connection
tab. Press the Settings button probably next to box
marked "Connect to the internet using a modem."

3. On the next screen, uncheck the box marked "Disconnect if idle for
XX minutes." so there is no automatic disconnect. If this does not help,
the problem is probably with your Internet Service Provider. Some ISPs'
will close the connection if they do not detect any apparent activity such
as downloading.
If you experience problems after installing the program or update, review the
troubleshooting section below. If you need technical support, please
provide us with as much information as possible on the nature of the
problem including exact wording of any error messages and the operating
system that you are using.
Download Instructions

Click on the link to the setup file or update file.

Choose Save Target As from the list of options.

Select the location on your hard drive where you wish to save the
setup file. Please note the location since you will nee to browse to this
location to begin installation.
Installation Instructions

Open MyComputer or Windows Explorer and browse to the location of the setup file your saved.

Double click on the file name to begin the installation. The Wise Installation Wizard will appear.

Follow the instructions that appear in the installation wizard to complete the installation.
