My work computer is in the shop and we just bought a netbook as a back up for when one of our computers is out of commission (this is the fourth such incident this year, so it does happen).

Will PMB5 run on a netbook and if so, are there any special settings needed? I was amazed to see how many netbooks, including this one, run Windows XP. When I purchsed my last computer 3 or 4 years ago, it was a Vista OS and the store wanted another 150 pounds for a copy of XP. Now they are putting XP on netbooks and I have to remember how to use it after 2 years of Windows 7.

Thanks for the help.

I've used PMB on my netbook and found that, while it ran fine, the screen resolution meant I was constantly scrolling to see the whole screen. But yes, it did run.

i tested PMB5 on a netbook running windows 7, my advice is that you will need to get all the RAM you can wedge into the machine.

I agree with both Rowena and Welmoed. Wanted to add that I can adjust resolution to see the entire screen without scrolling, but when I do everything is quite small and this might be uncomfortable for some. Also, I will want to use a computer with a larger monitor as I learn to do more with PE - if you use PE often you may find the same.

This is a stop-gap while my main laptop is in the shop for repair. I have a rare couple of weeks at home this month and I want to do some sewing for ME. With the holidays, car shopping, the flu, etc., I didn't have time to do everything I wanted before it went in for repairs, like design and print out some patterns.

I have no idea how much RAM this lil thing takes, I know it will be borderline doing anything like PMB on it because it's quite limited in its functions, but using it is kind of like camping anyway.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate the help.

One more question: How do I install PMB 5, as I had an upgrade from V5 from V4 on my laptop. I would only have a copy on my laptop and this netbook, though if it causes issues with this one, I won't leave it on here when I'm not using it; my husband and I will share this. I have all my Product Activation info right here next to me.

Thanks.

Use the link you were set to download the setup file and install.

You do not need V4.

If you need help with the unlock write me privately.
