Wow, thank you so much for the kind replies.
I got around to taking some better pictures.
Here is the view of the back. I did a regular center back panel, no shirring.

No bra inside I have a bra with removable straps so I used one strap for both cups, to go around my neck (like a halter). And when I did the fitting I marked the location of the straps on the cup so the halter straps would cover them perfectly. I considered using belt loops to keep the back of the halter top above my bra but that turned out to be unnecessary.
