Subject: Hi I'm new here

I do have a question, I need to take my pattern out to be printed. Has
anyone used Staples, Kinko's or Office Max to print patterns?
How do you get around the pdf limitations of 24" x 45" .
I wish there was an option to save it as a jpeg. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
pat

A jpeg would not be the correct size.

welcome macpat!

why are you taking your patterns out to be printed?  you can print them directly from your home computer.

in general, CAD files do not print correctly when converted to other formats because part of the code that creates a CAD file is the scale of the image.  if you convert to jpeg or PDF you lose that coding.

however, you can always draw a 4" square on your pattern file and have the printer test it to see if they can hold the scale, sometimes they can get close enough to not make much difference.

The only printer I have is to an older mac - with no connections/interfaces for
a pc. Just wish there was a format I could use.

Adobe or other pdf will print correctly as long as you have it set for 100%.

There is the paper size limitation that is a function of pdf.

I have tested printing to cute pdf and then printed the pattern and measured it.
