I do have the latest update. I just checked my settings and the waist height was set at 2, not 4 as I said in my previous post. I knew I had lowered the seam by 1 from the default.

Well  - it is not drafting now but was in Oct.

I need to go in and see what I did -I did it on paper.

You might want to look at it with just the dart and measure the two sections adjust the pattern.

Here is a new design from V5 added to my swap.

This is the no dart version of the cris cross.

I think it gives an unstructured look without being baggy.

This looks great. I assume the fabric is a knit - will you share settings? Thanks, Lora

It's a cotton blend - not sure what - from the Vogue Fabrics sale section.  A mid weight.  OK for a blouse but also did a pair of capris from it.

no darts - 3/4th sleeve - hem circumference 14.  May have some neck width - not sure.  All I have left is the paper pattern since my V5 database has changed a lot since I printed it.  I don't have a saved summary.

I just pull it over my head, no closure.

Karen, your top looks great, getting more and more for V5! Thanks for sharing a non-knit version of a surplice top, your zipper necklace will work very well with it too.

I've been looking at the two tops you've said were made from the criss cross pattern. It is hard to see from the picture - but there does not appear to be any gathering at the side seam and you seem to have attached the top layer a inch or so down the side seam.

Is this the way the criss cross is meant to be sewn or did you modify it to suit yourself?  When I drafted the basic pattern it appeared that both layers were attached the full length of the sideseam.

I used the no dart option that does not have the gathers because I wanted a less fitted look.  Make the choice on the dart screen.

Hi, Karen,

Your tops are great! I'm echoing Cate's question about attachment point along the side seam. The sketch in Drafter looks as if the faced edge of front winds up right at the underarm intersection, but your tops look as if it tucks into the side seam farther down, maybe more than an inch farther down. Does it? If it does, did you modify the neckline curve in the pattern, or did you use more or tighter gathers to pull the faced edge down? I just basted the side seams on my first criss cross and I need to pull the gathers way farther into the seam (for flat-chested DD). I'm wondering whether while I'm at it I might also move the faced edge down, or whether it's too late and that modification needed to be done before cutting.

I made no changes to the Criss Cross with the NO DART option.

With no dart the side bust dart rotates to the neckline.

Oh how nice. Although I am not interestd in making this style for me... it makes me wish I had V5 and makes me want to finish my sheath sloper very soon.
