Hi,

I printed out the Wild Things Sunhat. The band looks so wide. It is 7.5 inches. Does this get halved as being part of the facing? I measured another sunhat that I have and it is exactly 3.5 inches.

When I first tried to change the depth for the sunhat, nothing happened. When I toggled to another style (beret, I think) and then went back to sunhat, I could change the height and depth and circumference. The depth is what will make the brim of the sunhat wider or narrower. You can then set it to whatever width (called depth) you desire.

I just reread your posting. Perhaps you are interested in the setting that is called 'height'. I guess this could be called a band, also. Once you toggle back and forth in the styles and get the settings to work, set them to extreme numbers so that you can tell onscreen just what is changing, and design away...

Hi Marilyn,

It was definitely the height adjustment. I will remember this for the future.

After looking at the sewing directions, I think I'm just going t make 2 hats, stitch them together and then turn them right side out. I'll post a pic when done.

Thanks so much for your response.

Well, I finally did finish it. Next time I will make the band even narrower. Here is a link to the finished product:

So nice to be able to make basically anything, isnt it.

I also made my granddaughter a sunhut, the brim was too wide, at least she is protected from the UV rays.
