In PMB Stylemaster I drafted a full circle skirt @ a Midi length. Due to restrictions with fabric widths, the block pattern would have to have both a CF & a CB seam line.

I changed this up a bit, creating 2 front pieces with the seam line resting on the torso pleat of the bodice pattern and a full back piece. (see image)

My question is about the grain line placement for the side front pattern. Would you keep the grain line that would have been used with the 2 piece or lay the grain line along the straight side seam line?  My gut instinct is to keep the original grain line.

 Thoughts?

You need to keep the original grainline. Otherwise, the side pattern will drape differently than the other patterns.
