I have a length of ponte knit and would like to make a dress like this:
3/4 length sleeves, v neck and back zipper. I am thick around the middle, and I've found it better to have a waistline seam. I would like the skirt front to have a sort of overwrap look. I am wondering if this front waist area would be too thick for ponte. What do you think?

Hi, Joyce
I would suggest you grade down on the seam, so its'not to much fabric. (After sewing)
a flat over wrapwould be ok but of you try to use pleats and folds it could lead into being thick and bulky.
another option is to use a lighter fabric for the overwrap.
