I was designing a dress shirt pattern.. I had never noticed the one "cf height"  i fiddled with the settings and it appears it makes the collar band make an upward angle.
What effect does that have?
Could someone explain.  I have a short neck and some shirts just brush under my chin.

The curve lets the collar hug the neck.  A straight neck would stand out a bit.

Unless you plan to wear a tie with the shirt, I would reduce the upward curve of the collar band. I normally use 0.25” setting for dress shirt patterns that are for sport shirts, no tie.
