Subject: Question regarding alignment markers

I just printed my first pattern, but I am having trouble lining the pages up. When I am lining pieces in down a column, I don't have an issue. However when I'm lining rows up, the alignment markers don't work the same way. Instead of butting the straight edges of the semicircles together, it seems to make more sense to overlap them. However when I overlap the semicircles, there is some overlap in the pattern lines. Did I print to PDF incorrectly? I used Microsoft's built in print to PDF feature, but I can try cute pdf as well.

Here are some photos of the issue I'm encountering. What is the correct way to line up pieces in a row?

1) I prefer to use the L-shaped option as opposed to the pie shaped pieces. Your choice.
2) I always line up long edges of paper first, to minimize misalignment error.
3) However, I think that most of the mis-alignment is due to imperfect feeding of the paper through the printer. You just have to average out the misses. It's usually not hard to just smooth a line to make it continuous.

Other opinions?

I re-printed the pattern to PDF using CutePDF, switched the alignment markers to the L-shape and printed some new pieces using Adobe Reader. I think I've got it now. Does this look right?
