Hi all --- I have a fat tummy in front and a chubby high hip in back
How do I accommodate these measurements into the Boutique patterns? I do not see a way to put in back and front measurements.

..................Front...Back...Total
Waist.............27......20......47
3".below.........25......23.....48
6".below.Hip...23......27.....50

Thanks, being 6'2" 230 lb woman I am sick of having clothes not fit properly and also sick of the way plus sizes are graded. Thanks for the help. I have hopes that this software will allow me to make fun clothes!

Hi Amy - What I do is take the largest front measurement and add that to the largest back measurement, and use the total for the hip. This allows the fabric to fall straight in front, rather than cupping under the tummy. This should give you a good starting point.

About 3 yrs ago there was a post on Frabjous Couture that addressed this very issue. I actually made the tagboard measuring band and it improved a straight skirt I was fiddling with in PMB and made it easier to find the full hip measurement to plug into Lekala online as well. Not sure it would apply to pants unless it was a style like a split skirt or culotte, but it makes sense.

Nice post about getting width for a skirt/dress! I get the same size by adding the tummy front to the hip back measurements.

Now the question is how to make this work with Pattern Master. I have done manual pattern drafting and use front and back measures.

The reply from the techs is to do a fitting garment. So that is what I am doing.

I will post the results of the sheath and pant after I get the info to the techs!

Thanks for your interesting and helpful response Shel!

Remember with the fit garment do not make any manual changes. Sew it up and if adjustments are needed send the three pictures to support@wildginger.com
