You can import DXF files into Cameo from some other software. I don't know if Illustrator is compatible. It's not one I have tried. You would need to export from Illustrator to one of the AutoCAD compatible DXF files. If there is more than one option, you might need to try each of them.

Thank you Lisa..
So to import the DXF, do I just open it from Pattern Design?

Yes, from the File/Open menu.

I've opened DXF files in pattern design with mixed results. One that I created as a test was fine, but any type did not carry over. I tried converting a pattern I own from another source - a pdf that I know was created in Illustrator - and after a long wait, it ended up being unusable. The file I opened in pattern design was nothing but random symbols. For files that need to be custom fitted in pattern design, I fond it faster to merge a pdf and trace it, but your mileage may vary.

Pure speculation but you may have better results exporting to an autocad 2000 dxf file.

That's what cameo exports as.

Thank you, Jerwin. I'll give that a try.
