I measured my Maru 20" doll and did as Karen recommended multiplied by 4 then printed pattern at 1/4 and it worked pretty well. I did it to be able to contemplate a dress design for myself so the dress was sewn quickly and not completely but it worked for me very well. The bodice is too small but I also didn't take a lot of time in my measurements. Now that I have seem it work size wise and was a really great way for me to decide if I like my design.

The only issue I have is she is a doll not a human so getting the dress off and on is awkward so I had to release seams and pin them in place. For my purposes this is fine for a doll that is used to play with this would be an element you would need to consider carefully.

I will probably do this for the next dress I am working up and will post here.

I am even more now to make this dress for myself. I will post when I do.

It is cool isn't it.
Couple years ago in an obsession to use those little scraps of wonderful fabric I decided I would make and sell doll clothes. I even made the brick backdrop etc to photograph. I have a bunch of doll clothes and have never gotten around to selling anything... BUT now I don't feel weird with the dolls. They now serve a very good function for me.

You can find these dolls every so often in thrift stores. So like the coveted lifesize dress form this is a great tiny mini me dress form.
