Hi, I am wanting to make 18 inch doll clothes.  There has been discussions on the forum, but I am not successful in my search.  What do I search for?  Any help will be appreciated.

Helen, I don't think you can successfully make patterns in any of the Wild Ginger programs for 18" dolls. I could be wrong. I have made patterns for "My Size Barbie", but she is 36" tall. I have to double her measurements and then print out 1/2 size patterns. I still have to tweak the patterns because her proportions are so off for a real person. I don't know if you can do the same with 1/4 size patterns. I would try that, if I wanted to make doll clothes for the smaller Barbie.

If I remember correctly, someone was able to scale down their patterns in pmb3 to the size for American Girl dolls. I do not remember who but surely someone will point you the direction to go. I think that they measured the doll, multiplied each measurement by 4 and entered them into the measurement chart and then printed the patterns in 1/4 scale. I am sure that is oversimplified and not quiet the correct math but surely Lisa will remember since math and pattern design are her forte.

For 18 inch dolls a good start is multiply measurements by 4 and print quarter scale. CP is best for doing this since the dolls have very little shape.

Did a search. Might be easier to buy a pattern designed for the doll.

PATTERN MASTER BOUTIQUE

I used these measurements with Pattern Master V.2 quite a few years ago. They have just come out with
V.5. I got these from someone on the PMB User's Group.

These are the true measures times 4. Choose 1" seam allowance and print out in quarter scale for the
actual patterns. Oh yes, they're in metric so you'll have to translate them to inches.

I have a Samantha AG doll and TM5. I'll try the information presented above and try it to make some clothing for her.
