Hi all,

I'm entirely new to PatternMaster Tailor Made. I entered the basic measurements and sewed the men's shirt fitting garment last night, but the sleeves are too narrow to get my arms through. I definitely have my bicep circumference entered correctly, but the program doesn't ask me for anything like my wrist or lower arm circumference, which seems to be where the sleeve is too narrow.

Does anyone have any suggestions to get a fit garment that I can get on?

Thanks!

To get the fit garment on take out the lower arm seam until you can get it on.  Most important thing to check is shoulders and circumferences.

In design defaults you can set your desired default for the wrist.  Also, as you design you can set the wrist hem circumference in settings.

Thanks Karen! I'll release the seams until I can get it on, then send my photos :-)

You may find that 2.5" ease is not enough for your chest and waist. Even in a fitting garment. My experience is that the larger figure simply requires somewhat more.

Good luck!

This problem can be caused by short fat arms (which is how I know). The bicep and the wrist may be correct - the sleeve then drafts by drawing straight lines from the bicep line to the wrist line. This is fine if your arms narrow evenly however mine only become narrowish in the final six inches. I manually alter my fitted sleeves by drawing an additional horizontal line just below the elbow - this line will be the same measurement as the actual arm at this point plus ease. I then redraw the sleeve seamlines from bicep to forearm to elbow.
