Hello, I am having problems with alot of style options being greyed out... I understand some options aren't programmed to work together, but even when trying to create the most basic dress, "slinky" and "A-line" are always greyed out... what do I need to do to access these?
Thanks in advance!

The slinky skirt requires either a front or back zipper as the closure. It cannot work with any of the button closures. The slinky and the a-line are only on for the waist and midriff length bodices. They cannot work for empire or drop. They also cannot work with the unfitted waist.

thanks for responding.... no matter what style I select...(always with zipper in the back and a standard waist) the only style where slinky or A-line becomes available is "victorian" and sometimes "Twist" ... I also am having problems with my boat neck setting....the collar is available but when I click it it doesn't add one... I think my software may be buggy.

I am not seeing these issues here with the dress skirts. Do you have the latest update installed? When I first go to Dresses and then just click on the Skirts tab, both the slinky and the a- line styles are enabled. Likely its some other option you are selecting.

Will check the boat neck collar for the next update.

Open PMB 6 and click Help at top of page. Select Check for updates.
In PMB5 go to system tools I believe.

yes...I am running the most current version. aside from not being able to access slinky and a- line, and the boat neck collar not display, in dresses, when I click either "classic" or "tee Shirt" style, the pattern shape doesn't change..it remains as classic. i am really hoping to sort this out, i have alot of projects i need to get done, and this bringing it to a halt Thanks again for your reply

The classic and the tee shirt are the same style except for the shoulder line. When you click on tee shirt the first time after the screen opens, the shoulder length setting increases to 1 inch. That is the only change. You have to reset the shoulder length setting to 0 on the Settings tab when going back to classic.

I cannot duplicate the issue with the dress skirts. I have fixed the boat neck collar for the October 1 update.

Thanks for your reply Lisa,
Its so strange. I can open up dresses without clicking anything, and go straight to skirts and these are not available, slinky, a-line, asymmetrical, draped and wrap. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do? Is there a way to reinstall the software, without losing all my patterns I have already created?

Maybe you should just reinstall the latest update.

Make sure front is set to no opening and back to back zipper and check the skirts. If the program is installed it is correct so please so not uninstall. You can also save and send me the summary so I can check for a setting blocking the skirts.

yes, it is set at classic with zipper in back, no collar, and sleevless... this is what it is set to, and this is how it is displaying, however when i look at the summary, it says it is set to single breasted. hmmmm

Reinstalling will not fix the issue so there is no need to to do that. The only thing I can recommend is try clicking on the various closures and clicking on the waist length option and then go to the skirts tab and see if they turn on. If not, you will need to wait for the next update.

You can send your database to support@wildginger.com and I can test with it.

The File you need to send is C - PMBoutique6 - Databases - PMB6Charts.sdf

I checked the database. The Torso dart options were set to zero. This was preventing the skirts from drafting. For a garment with a fitted waist, no torso darts is not a good choice. (OK for a knit or a woven blouse or sheath draft.) With a waist seam no torso darts takes the woven fabric off grain.

Both the A line and the slinky depend on rotation of the waist dart to create the style.  If there is no waist dart, they then can't draft.
