Hi

Purchased Patternmaster Boutique a couple of weeks ago and anxious to get going! I am in the process of taking and entering measurements. Please can someone tell me where to take the low waist measurement? On the fit guide there are three horizontal lines, 1 at waist, 1 at hip and 1 midway between the two, is the inbetween one the low waist? (I think in the UK we call the middle line the high hip) I have googled where to take the low waist measurement and found info to take it at the naval, is this right?

Also I think my natural waist and hip measurement are further apart than 8 inches. On the fit pattern drafting software I think I saw that the hip depth default is 8 inches, do I leave it at that for drafting my fit garments, or do I need to change it first.

Many thanks in anticipation

Caroline

Welcome. For your fit garment you just need your natural waist. Use the drawing that comes up when you click on natural waist in the measurement chart.

Are you looking at the hip drawing in the fit guide page 10?  Most use the natural hip (sometimes called seat) measurement.  It is the measurement about 8 inches below the natural waist.

We like you to start with the defaults for the first fit garment.

If you are unsure what measurement to use, take all three and send them to support@wildginger.com and we will take a look.
