I thought this would be obvious, but recently I know two people who have fallen for this scam.

You get a call from someone saying they are Microsoft support and your computer is sending error messages and they are calling to fix it.

NO!

If you get this call, hang up immediately.

Great to know. Yes, I figured it had something to do with an error message I reported. Now I don't feel bad about being rude to a phone bank guy. We've gotten two calls, sounded like the same guy. Good rule, if they call you it's probably a scam.

On Monday I got a call saying the my computer was showing too many errors and Micro----I hung up!

Once when I allowed my system to report an error to Microsoft I received an email back in a couple of days telling me what to do to fix the issue. That's once in a lot of years and that was some years ago.

One person who got caught on this scam told me "but it sounded like he was in India"

Someone calling themselves the IRS is playing this game too. Please be very careful with unusual phone calls.

My dad got caught on this scram, my brother could not believe he fell for it. We all have slip ups. It is good to remind people.
