Finished my first V6 project yesterday. It's a version of my favorite "Peterman Dress". Previously I used the regular kimono draft, but this time I tried the square kimono, which has an underarm gusset. I thought this was new to v6, but found out that it was also in v5 but I never noticed it (hey, there are sooooo many options it's understandable to miss a few!). Anyway, it went together like a dream and is so comfortable! I'll be making more of them for my colder-weather wardrobe. More pictures on my blog!

I also like the square kimono. I used it for my basic black dress for the spring and summer.

Love the color.

Looks fabulous.  The style and color are so attractive on you.

I also keep discovering "new" things that have probably been available before.  It's fun, isn't it?

Really great dress! I checked your blog ----as usual I've lost track of every one---however do you get it all done? however Your positive attitude make all things seem possible! I really will try to finish Donn's jacket this week!  Right after this week's dose of Nutcracker.

Susan, here are the settings:
Garment type: dress
Style: Kimono (Squared)
Bodice Length: Waist
Waist fit: Fitted
Front neckline: Shawl
Back neckline: Jewel
Closure: Single Breasted
Sleeve length: Three Qtr (but I cut about 4" off the pattern so it would fit on my fabric, and I do prefer the shorter length)
Sleeve cuff: Stand Out
Sleeve cuff width: 2

Collar style: Shawl
Collar width: 2.5

Skirt style: Gored (six gores)
Hemline sweep: Flared
Hemline flare: 12
Skirt length: 31

Front neckline depth: 7
Neckline width: 1
Blousing: 1

I think that's all of the settings that matter. Have fun!

Thanks so much!  I'm really keen on this dress.  Do you (or Karen) have any observations as to the difference between the square vs rounded kimono?

I know I could have done this previously, but for the first time I saved your picture with the file I created using your settings.  Very handy!
