Had a couple of questions.

The Upgrade Wizard is in Help on the top bar.

When you click Yes - it automatically closes the Pattern Master program and then displays a box with C/PMBoutique5.

Do not Browse.  That is where you want to be.  Just click on Upgrade and when it finishes Done.

Second this! Exactly what I needed and asked for. *So* much easier than trying to recreate all my "classic" patterns after upgrade from v4 to v5.

Just one question: why do some items in the style catalog have drawings & others not?

Many thanks,
Nancy

Are the ones with missing drawings styles that you imported from v5?

Yes, all of the ones with missing drawings are styles imported from PMB5 or PMK5. None of the sample styles is missing a drawing. I only just downloaded and installed upgrades this afternoon, so haven't had time to draft any new patterns from scratch in v6, and don't know whether the ones I draft in future will save with drawings.

The majority of the styles (in PMK, 86 out of 96 imported from v5) are missing the drawings. All of the ones that DO have drawings have save dates in 2014; but NOT all of the patterns with 2014 save dates have drawings.

Let me know if you need more detail.

Have just realized that only if the style listed in catalog window has a drawing can I click on it to open it. Ones without drawings will not open from the right-hand window. They will open from the list in the left-hand pane--BUT that pane has no scroll bar (or other way to scroll down) and only the top 27 styles will fit into it, so the majority of my saved styles are inaccessible.

Tested and I have a scroll bar in Style Catalog.

You can also reduce the number of styles displayed by selecting the desired garment type on the right. If it's not opening from the right side - all of mine do - there may have been a problem with the imported data. Open from the left side and then save to see if that put the drawing on the right side.

You might also run the upgrade wizard again to see if that moves the drawing.

On my machine maximizing and minimizing the screen helped me notice the scroll bars. The scroll bars are very pale and a bit hard to detect. Is there as advised screen resolution?
And I almost missed the arrows at top and bottom of the left hand pane. Granted my eyes are not as good as they once were.
Changing the skin helped somewhat.

If you uncheck Expand All Garment Categories, it will collapse the navigation bar. Then you can click on the down arrow next to any of the garment groups to view only what is in that garment group. If Expand All Garment Categories is unchecked when you close the program, it will still be unchecked when you reopen and the navigation bar will be collapsed when the screen opens.

Yes,right now I leave both unchecked.

It's the tiny arrow at the top and bottom within View Style Category --I just did not catch it right away.

Coopie

ps. And the scroll bars are very hard to see at first. Probably just need to get used to the new screens. And experimenting with the skins does help.

THANK YOU, COOPIE! I had found arrow at top of list in left-hand pane; it was the one at the bottom I wasn't seeing. So now I can see whole list of 96 knit tops (including at least a dozen I never actually made). Still no drawings for most styles in right-hand pane, but Karen's working on that.

P.S. What happened to the notes in the v5 field for "fabric"? I am not finding them either under "notes" or under "fabric description" on the "yardage details" tab.

I don't know if this is the answer in your case, but for me, the drawings that were missing were for styles I had created in previous versions that no longer had a corresponding .las file in my patterns folder.

If you mean what happened to the fabric descriptions you had saved with your styles, we could not import those from the previous program. Fabric description is now tied specifically to a saved layout as are swatches. Since we did not have that feature in the old program, there was no place to import it to in the new program.
