I wanted to learn how to sew knits because that is what I like to wear most. My wardrobe is basically casual. I wear scrubs at work and rarely go anywhere dressy otherwise. I am having so much fun!

I finally got tired of wearing the dingy white size 3XL long sleeved tshirt that I had been using as a night shirt for years. I won't burden you a picture of it! Ugh. I bought two pieces of cotton interlock knit at a local sewing store. It was quite a bit more expensive than what I usually buy, but oh my, it is soft and sturdy cotton knit (as in you get what you pay for!) One fabric I made into a long nightgown with long sleeves. I rarely make anything full length and had to piece the skirt because I didn't have enough fabric otherwise. Oops. I used the t-shirt pattern in PMK. The second fabric I made into a short-sleeved knee length nightgown using the dolman design in PMK. I had just enough fabric since the fabric design wasn't directional. (Note to self, buy more fabric for longer garments.) I'd never used Dolman before but it is nice a comfortable.

Sue I have made my nightgowns for years and yet until this last fall never made one in knit! You're right ! It's SOOO comfortable! Since I read until late, I used the short half circle sleeve to keep my upper arms warm. It's a great choice. I'll keep my eye open now for fun knits for nightwear.

Some knits feel so soft. I was patting a child to sleep at work the other day and his t-shirt felt like silk - I'm sure it wasn't though. He wouldn't let me look at the label to see the fibre content when he woke up. Three-year-olds can be so unreasonable!

Sue, I like that dolman sleeve style on you. It's very slimming on you. That print looks like something fun to wear.

I agree. I was surprised how flattering it was.

I just saw the spelling error. I really can spell better. Its darn spell correct and not proof reading .
I think I will try a doleman sleeve nightie or dress if sewing ever happens for me again.

I'm sitting with Ronnie right now while he works on speech therapy homework.
