I have had Win 8 on my office computer since it came out and love it.  But yesterday my new laptop with Win 8 arrived and what a mess.  It has nothing to do with Win 8 - it is all the junk software that comes on the computers.

So I'm going to do a couple of posts on cleaning up a new computer.

I make them smaller so I can see them all at the same time.  I also remove any I don't use.  Removing the icon from the start menu does not remove it from the computer.  You can recover it again from the app screen.  I also move them on and off as needed.  For example I'm getting my Puyallup class ready so moved Power Point to the start menu.  When finished I'll take it off, but it will always be in apps when I need it again.

Removing and Resizing

To resize or remove an icon RIGHT click on it.  A check mark will show in the upper right corner.

At the bottom left you will see choice to Resize and Unpin from the Start Menu.

Once you do this you can move them around on the screen.
