I watched "Downton Abbey" instead of the Superbowl, but I did see Renee Fleming on YouTube. I loved her Vera Wang dress, but didn't see enough of it. Can anyone speculate how the white part was drafted?

I think the white part was a cape, rather than part of the dress. I looked at a lot of pictures, and noticed that she never raised her left arm; I'm speculating that the swath of white cinched it in place. It looks like there's a closure just over her right armscye, where the front swath meets the sleevelet/main cape.

Very cool, though.

I am not a high fashion person, I know that, so take this with a grain of salt. I thought it looked like she was wrapped in a plastic cheese wrapper. It looked to me, like she was wrapped up and couldn't move. her singing was beautiful.

But a wonderful and successful focus trick! Slim black full length cocktail suit surrounded by white. She is not a tiny woman---- but she sure did look it!
