It seems that once the boy short legs are chosen for the leotard style that the back gets a seam down the middle. Is this necessary for the construction of the legs?

What is the best order of construction for a leotard with legs, sleeves, and buttons?

Thanks for any advice!

Tm V4 has general order of construction info in the sewing help.

To create legs you need the CB seam.

While I don't think ( but am not entirely positive) that you can get rid of both front and back seams, you can certainly get rid of the CF one. It's a pretty common cut in the dance world and is useful for color blocking across the front. I like it for both women and men because it eliminates the pull upward into the crotch area, is more comfortable, and also less noticeable. It is a case of removing the front crotch curve and adding it to the back. It will require at least one trial garment to check position. Coopie

Thank you both. I will play around with my options.

Send your database to support@wildginger.com

Before you do check that your height is correct in the chart and also the knee depth.

It was the knee depth setting.  It was too low.  I moved it up an inch and the pattern straightened out just fine.  Thanks!
