I did three coin purses for the kiddos.  Harvey is too young to sew so I finished his.

For Oscar and Agnes I didn't do the final sewing of the back to the front.  (This is an in the hoop project)

I will let them do the final step just using a sewing machine.  Oscar who is 6 can control the machine nicely even though he has to stand up to sew.

Agnes is 3 and will need a bit of help, although she can sew straight seams by herself.

Pattern is from Anita Goodesigns.

Karen, they are lovely; your grands-chilldren are very smart to be able to sew straight line,
Bravo to them.

Cute projects, Karen, and good idea for the kids to finish them.

Claire Shaeffer's oldest grandchild was three when I was teaching my middle daughter to sew--she was six, and Holly was just three. So I decided to teach Holly, too. She ended up being the one who has continued to sew all these years, and she did very well even at age three, as long as she was supervised. Little ones can do more than we think.
