Subject: bias skirt zipper

I'm making a bias skirt out of light weight fabric. I think it is poly cotton but not sure. Do I need to stabilize the zipper area before putting in the zipper?

I would think that narrow strips of tricot interfacing would do the trick. I' also probably insert it by hand.
