Today I finished Diana's costume for Otakon, and we are both really pleased with how it came out. It's always an adventure sewing the stuff she designs; sometimes it takes a little mental sewing to figure out how to transform her sketches into a workable pattern. But the end product was worth the hassle!
Now I just have a few small details to finish and I can call the costumes totally done, which is a good thing considering the event starts tomorrow evening!

This is one of your best yet, I think.

By the way, I love the flamingo and the hedgehog! Diana has a great sense of humor.

All your costumes are great. : ) This one is so fun...proof that there's alternative uses for plastic lawn flamingos.

The black and yellow stripes are pieced together and the white strips are appliqued on top. The skirt started out as a gored draft. I made the muslin to check the fit. Then the pattern pieces for the two front gores were taped together to create one large piece. This was then cut apart to create the pieces for color blocking. The hardest part of it all was to keep track of left and right to make sure the pieces were assembled correctly.
