Hi all!  On my recent visit to Ireland with a sewing buddy, we attended a reception that required a 'nicer' outfit than my usual travel fare.  So I spent a while in PMB5, drafting and manipulating, until I was pleased...then cut and sewed!  I used a peacock-colored silk doupioni to make a close-fitting jacket, which I wore with black pants.  This was NOT a basic PMB style, so there was quite a bit of pattern work done in the Pattern Editor portion of the program.

Overall, I was terribly pleased!

However (isn't there always a "however"...), if I were to do this over, I would increase the bust and back shoulder ease.  I used ZERO bust ease for this as I wanted it close-fitting.  It was!

But it looked good and performed well, which is more than I can say for my hair on this trip!

...details on my blog...

What a beautiful work of art. I say you have PMB figured out to a T. That jacket is so very eye appealing. I sew miss sewing. Just a little note about DH. He is improving by small increments daily. It is a long road.

Very nice jacket, a lot of work in the details, its suits you very well even if you would like more ease.
Bravo,

Thanks, everyone, for the nice comments.  I was pleased with my jacket!

Originally, I was going to add BEADS to those buttons...but I ran out of time.  Perhaps next time...

Also, I really liked that little tutorial that showed me HOW to make the tiny tube for the loops...if you didn't follow that link (in my blog post) you missed a good tip.

Fabulous, Trish! You do very nice work, by the way, both the sewing and the patternmaking.

That is amazing! The blog post was so detailed I got lost, I think I need you to come to my house and teach me to work the software! I've had some issues (some helped by tech support and some not) and can't imagine getting it to turn out something like this! WOW!
