I've had some questions recently about ease - so here goes.

Part 1 is Design Ease built into a pattern.

This example is the Caftan.

The red sloper is set to fit ease.  That is enough that you can put on the fit garment and move.  This might also be called wiggle room.

The Caftan is set to 0 ease.

You can see that there is additional width built into the program to make it a Caftan.

There is no way you can make the Caftan fitted - just not what a Caftan is.

I forgot to give an assignment. Go to Blouses and see what other styles have design style ease as part of the pattern.

The casual shirt, oversize and swing shirt have a lot of ease in the design style; also the tee-shirt had a bit of ease in its design style.
