I have drafted a simple sleeveless shift for a client. upon fitting the muslin I found i need it add a dart in the center front fold line about 1" deep and about 5" long. I don't want this in the finished garment. Does anyone know how I should go about moving this dart out of the center front to the side would be wonderful. thank you

Please send me the chart and if possible pictures. Sounds like a measurement issue.

Is the dart vertical - as if the neckline is too big? Or is the dart horizontal. Either way, can you rotate the dart around the bust point and into a more suitable location, depending on where your shift has the existing darts.

If the garment has waist darts, increase the waist darts or add a second waist dart.

If a woven you need to be careful moving too much to the side seam so it does not go off grain.

I do have a bust dart, the dart is vertical so all I need to do is rotate this to the side? Ok I can handle that one. I already rotated a dart from the front armhole into the bust dart. This woman is a very large woman but the shoulders are a little narrow. I will try rotating the dart. Thanks
