1. what is the wild cut crotch for?

2. I want a comfortable fit in the hips and thigh but I do not want really wide legs through the knees or at the bottom. Is the slim fit cut similar to a "slack" cut rather than a "trouser" cut?

Hi Mickeygirl:

I belived you mean "wild cut." Wild cut allows more fabric at the center back so your slacks don't ride down when you sit. It's really a nice feature.

The slim cut is just that---a slim leg. I suggest you draft a slack cut and adjust you thigh through the knee setting. The knee width, found in the settings page, determines the width through the thigh area. The trouser cut allows more area in the crotch--it extends the crotch a tiny bit. You could compare the different cuts by drafting them on the page and then measuring them by going to 'full screen' and using the measuring tool.

I adjust my pants pattern by using the slack cut and adjust with the knee setting. good luck--

The fitting pants are slacks with a slim cut leg.

Did you do your fitting pants. If not, you need to start there.

If you have done the fitting pants use them to make design choice. You can use the red fitting pants on screen to see how the new design you are doing compares to the fitting pants.
