I made the following shorts out of woven twill non stretch fabric. The waist ended up 8" too big. I adjusted 3" on the back seam, 1-1/4" at side seams. For a total of 8". I used Pattern Master Boutique for my shorts pattern. I had to cut a 1-1/2" off the front waist.
The pants look good in front, but terrible in back. Please tell me what to do to . Pictures are in my album.

Can I make pants and shorts thru the PMK program with woven fabrics. There seems to be more measurements for the pants.

Send your chart and pictures of your fitting pantsto support@wildginger.com

Also send the summary for the shorts so I can see the setting and pictures. If you have not done fitting pants, send the shorts info.

For the waist check what you put in pants waist. It is a setting.

Hi Carol

I tried to look at your shorts but when I log into your album, I can only see the photo labelled "client dress". No idea why but perhaps my settings are a bit dodgy.

Waists are interesting. Take a look at the summary for your shorts and check the following: first check your physical waist measurment and compare it to the summary waist measurement. Then check the amount of waist ease. Then compare this total measurement of waist plus ease with the on screen pattern - they should be the same. If so, then compare to the paper pattern you printed out. It should all be the same (once you measure around the darts). Finally compare to the fabric just in case something grew.

However - this assumes you want the shorts to sit at your actual natural waist.

If you have used waist drops, there is a separate option where you enter your preferred measurement. For example if your natural waist is 30 inches but you like the pants to sit a bit lower at a spot on your body that is 33 inches, there is a setting where you put this specific number.

Hope this helps you isolate at what stage the problem is occuring.

I, too, am unable to see the pictures in your album or that of bmoyer.

Cate - if your settings a dodgy then so are mine.

Knits and Boutique use the same info to draft pants.

For posting your photos, edit them to be smaller or with less resolution before posting. If the file is too big, they won't upload.
I use photo shop elements but there are other programs to do this.

I checked the pictures. They are too large.

To reduce them open in paint and make them smaller. Easy way is just resize 50%.

You can also crop them to just show what you want.

This is a link to the Open Classroom with some brief movies on doing this.

Please remember that pictures posted in Albums are public.
