I made this blouse as a dress with an empire waistline. I added a little more width to the front “skirt” in PE to have a little more “swing” (not much) to the flare. I chose a side zipper (which I didn’t sew) and made a facing to the bodice manually in PE. The sleeves are “fit and flare”
The embroidery is from the Husqvarna collection “All around the edges”. I took the embroidery into my software and made a jpeg of it. I then merged it into PE and scaled it to the right size and placed it on my front piece and made the pattern after this. I then embroidered the 2 pieces and put the pattern piece on top, aligned and cut it out. I chose the colors to match the buttons.
The fabric is a very soft cotton. It’s very comfortable and I already love it

THANKS for the details on order of procedure! This will help me work much more efficiently.

A question: I see that the fabric is lightweight. What kind of stabilizer did you use, and did you alter the stitch density in the embroidery? I am always looking for low-density designs so my garments aren't stiff.

Wonderful. Truely a great display of how a natural flare for design and PMB can give you a really nice garment. The right tools help too.

Thank you all for your very nice comments.

@ Nancy. The fabric is actually not lightweight, but it is very loose woven, so I guess that’s why it is kind of transparent. I did not alter the density of the design, since it is very low density as is, and I use water soluble Vilene, so that it won’t be stiff from the stabilizer after washing.

I actually made a very nice tunic (not PMB) last year with a IMHO very nice low density design (See photos) If you are interested I can send you the design files. I won’t be violating any copyrights by that, since I designed it myself in my Embird Studio. Just let me know.

Berit

You look so beautiful in your new blouse! The embroidery is perfect...colorful yet soft. And the buttons are spot-on...well done!
