I love the new pleated cowl design in PMB5. It  gives the type of cowl I wanted: one that drapes down further than the regular cowl. It has two vertical darts each side for shaping, front and back. The sleeves are set-in with flare shaping.

My finished version is not perfect. I think I would like narrower shoulders in my sloper. I did not make a new sloper in V5. Instead I made a muslin pleated cowl and found I needed more width at hip and waist because it was going over pants. My dummy is regretfully smaller than I am at the moment, in the bust especially, so it looks a bit droopy in the photo. It was a fabric challenge from my sewing group where we all got the same fabric in a limited amount. It was a drapey rayon with the border on the lengthwise grain so I could not cut on bias as PMB suggests. It is not one I would have normally chosen for my coloring.

That's really nice! You did a good job. Never thought of using a border print that way. Thanks for the idea.

Perhaps lingerie carriers at the shoulders would help keep the width stable?

Your top looks great. I love this cowl! Sometimes i see the cowl drops too low for my taste. This one is perfect. I love your choice of fabric also.

Thanks Karen, I wondered how this neckline would draft.
It's very nice and I hope you get a lot of wear out of it.
