Intro to Fashion Design: The Bodice

I'm interested in this class but the information I need is not posted in the FAQ.

1. When does the class start?
2. Can you do a download 'only' of the class or do you need to view it live on-line?
3. If you need to view it 'live', when are they?
4. How many classes/weeks do the classes last?
5. Will there be opportunities for help fitting garments from class instructors?

Thank you,

K

Hi,

The Fashion Design Online classes are strictly computerized flat pattern classes. We do not teach any aspects of fit in these classes. The classes are downloadable only at your convenience and are all self paced. There is no schedule for taking them.

Hi Lisa,
I have wondered if taking the Fashion Designer online classes could really help my use of PMB5? What is your sense, Lisa? How applicable would they be?

Hi Sue,

The Fashion Design Online classes have nothing to do with PatternMaster. They would not teach you how to use it or how to take measurements, fit garments, or make style selections. Their only purpose is to teach computerized flat pattern from scratch.

Hi Lisa: I am also interested in these classes but would like to be more clear about what they are. We would need measurements to make the patterns, right?? And if the patterns are made on the computer but the classes do not have anything to do with Pattern Master, what software would we need? Sorry for the continued questioning but I would really like to understand more.

Thanks so much for any response, Kyle

There are no measurements taken or used in the Fashion Design Online classes. The class materials include a basic set of slopers that are used in each lesson to complete the lesson. Patterns are not drafted from scratch to measurements in these classes nor are there any lessons on taking measurements, fitting garments or altering patterns for the purposes of fit.

And if the patterns are made on the computer but the classes do not have anything to do with Pattern Master, what software would we need? Sorry for the continued questioning but I would really like to understand more.

Fashion Design Online comes with its own software. Its similar to the Pattern Editor in PatternMaster but does not print. It is solely for the purpose of completing the lessons in each class. As Karen indicated, the classes are more pertinent to our Cameo customers who are creating their own patterns for their own designs or college students learning flat pattern.
